The Journey Begins

Every beginning has an ending, but there are many chapters in between. You see over the last 25 years, I went from graduating college, starting a career, getting married, having children, juggling parenthood and a freelance writing career while burning the candle at both ends. If you’ve been in my shoes or flip flops, you can relate in my case to driving kids to hockey, dance classes, swim and, well everywhere.

And, then it happens, you wake up and your 50. You’re on the final pages of that beautiful ride called life. Your children are now young adults and starting their own life journeys. You look in the mirror and realize that you’ve been so busy taking care of everyone else that you’ve lost track of who you were before you became a wife and a mother. I have to admit, this time in my life both freaks me out and inspires me.  For the the first time in a long time, the most important person I need to make happy is me.

What makes me happy you ask? The beach! It really is my therapy and trust me, it’s way cheaper than a therapist. It calms me when I’m anxious, it motivates me to stay in shape, it warms me up when I’m cold and it reminds me of how beautiful life truly is.  For me, it is the Best Escape Anyone Ever Had!

As I enter this next decade of my life, I want to spend it at the beach with other beach bohos like me. Whether you’re like me or a few years younger, I hope you’ll follow me on this sandy journey through my blogs. While many people my age, have their bucket lists, mine is little different. I call it my SAND BUCKET LIST, but it really is for anyone at any age who’s looking to plant their feet and chairs on a beach somewhere.  I’ll be taking you with me on this reoccurring blog as I check off all the fabulous beaches throughout Southern California, as well as some other breathtaking beach destinations in some of my favorite coastal hot spots. I’ll also introduce you to some other beach bohos along the way that I love and adore who have some pretty interesting adventures themselves in business and life. And, last, but not least I’ll share with you some beach life “must-haves”.

I hope my beach bohos musings will encourage you to be more adventurous, get in shape and nourish your body, as well as inspire you to make a splash!
